Greetings from Texas

I recently purchased a 2001 black Tacoma. Its a 5-speed manual V6. For all of driving days past I have been a Jeep guy. With many posts on the Wrangler forum I felt I was a die-hard Jeeper. As a Jeeper I was indoctrinated to hate Toyota's as 4X4s (sorry). As I looked for a more practical vehicle to be my Daily Driver I decided on a Tacoma. This made my heart ache. However, as I read on this forum and research the Tacoma, and watch videos of Expedition Overland I gained more respect for the Tacoma as a 4X4. You guys seem super helpful and very accepting to noobs and I will need help desperately. But I look forward to my days behind the wheel of a Tacoma and the miles I put on it on the trails. If any of you would like to message me in order to indoctrinate me into TW feel free. I need to know all of the little acronyms and major things beginners need to know. I have been using the search bar a lot here but I honestly don't know what to read first. Could anyone point me to some threads and reads that would be helpful to kickstart my research. Brands that are reliable for taco's? and of course, the do's and don'ts of being a Tacoma owner. I don't wanna be "that guy" out there.
