Finally bit the bullet on a Double Cab Long Bed.

Still a clueless noob with these modern machines. I kept looking for a floor lever with 2-4-Low-4 on it.

Texas dealers have ticked me off one too many times, so found it in Colorado.

I'm trading my 2019 Highlander, which is a very sweet ride but time to get back to my old Land Cruiser Roots (FJ40 & FJ60) and have a little fun camping and exploring.

I was a bit apprehensive about the drive mode selector switch. I had a bad experience in West Virginia in a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. I was going up a muddy, steep hill when the electronic controller decided it had other plans. I had to get pulled up the side of a mountain by a dozer. Doesn't look good to the boys on the ROW. In my Taco, I have had no such issues and I've punished it in Pennsylvania and in the swamps of Louisiana. Matter of fact, I was getting for the road and dropped my skid plates; I found about 2 to 3 inches of mud caked up under there with no issues and it's been working great in the snow.

Snow day. About 6" of dry crunchy powder. The truck was fine in 2WD. I've got a bump as I go into my shop, so it usually needs a little momentum.
I tried it slow and got the odd shuddered of the traction control. Backed up, 4Lo, and get let it roll into the shop.

Getting used to the truck. I suspect it will be toss on a shell and rock slider, and have fun. Came with Goodyear Wranglers. Maybe better tires and a small ARB pump for when I air down. It feels like my old FJ40; drop it in gear and let it idle up and over stuff.
