I've seen the gray wire mod mentioned but I can't find a post that goes into detail how to do it. Can anyone help with that? Does this mod allow you to activate the rear Locker independent of the four wheel drive system? Any drawbacks to doing this safety-wise or reliability-wise?

    Thanks for the help.

The 3rd Gen Tacoma is not "grey wire moddable".

There is no easy plug-and-play rear locker mod for these trucks.

Thanks for the response. I read that link you sent me and it doesn't appear anyone's been able to come up with anything. The gray wire mod must have been for the older models. Oh well thanks for helping me though.
