    Installed new HID's 5000K
    I used six strips of sticky back velcro. I pretty much lined the entire surface area under the center console. The velcro I used said it should hold up to 5lbs.

    I was able to get the lid to stay up by slightly bending one side of the spring back. I bent the side that sits against the lid only by maybe 1/4". Granted I don't have much weight but my lid wouldn't even stay up at all before so maybe this will help.

    Used solder gun with flat tip to cut (melt ) . Melted edges in so wont come apart . Also melted strap back in .
