This thread is getting somewhat derailed. Where are the wind tunnel tests and hard data?? The OP clearly has a serious question and we need to get it answered. I would also like to explore the average MPG increase from plastidip grilles while we are collating data. I suspect the increased surface friction from the the soft plastic could introduce boundary layer turbulence which could also result in more optimum operating temperatures. I am also more convinced than ever that the $400 I spent on a TRD Pro grille is worth it for the gasoline savings alone and making my truck not look like a Remington shaver or a kid with braces was merely a bonus.

So please let us get back on topic and give this thread the consideration it deserves.

    This thread crashed before take-off.

But I only studied with countless hours of automotive wind tunnel design. So...

Looks like OP's hood ornament. May be why he swapped grills in the first place?

For optimum performance, you should block the entire radiator opening. It will reduce drag and increase performance. Nevermind the fact you will overheat shortly afterward.

And that's the problem. You gotta COUNT the hours. We need DATA.

I realize to someone likely without a post-secondary STEM education the two could be confusing, but countless is about synonymous with the antonym of count.

Hope I didn't lose you there, as your post suggests.

I already provided the proven scientific method to reduce drag via the grill. You could also exhaust the radiator flow out the hood for reduced drag, but seems unlikely given the cost.

I've also heard putting salt in your gas tank so it sucks up all the water and won't freeze over in the winter.

If we're playing "my degree is bigger than yours" I already had mine printed on poster board, so neener neener :p

Anyway, to the fun-haters: the ambiguity of what he means by "wind resistance" in the initial post requires clarification from the OP before his question can be satisfactorily answered.

In the meantime, having a laugh or two is good for your health. Carry on.
