Grill bezel replacement, will I run into issues with radar sensor?

Would like to hear from people who installed a replacement grill bezel, about how to avoid radar sensor issues afterward.

I tried the search engine, really, but cannot determine what I should look out for when I replace the bezel (outer ring) on my 2019 Sport's grill. I purchased an OEM black bezel ring to replace the chrome one that came with the truck.

I can do the install, that looks basic enough, and I know to be careful to keep the sensor from getting knocked out of alignment when the grill's off, but would it be correct to disconnect the battery during install, or should I not mess with that? Any other precaution?

Just don't want to see error messages about my radar sensor after I install the bezel. Thanks!

I was told you have to bring to Dealer after install to have it reset because it’s not in the same location behind the Toyota emblem it sits below it and will be off so for me I will just have the dealer do the install of a oem one and clear reset it before I pick it up just to make sure nothing shows on my dash.

I think you're referring to the pro grille and it doesn't sound like that's what OP is installing. Just the thin bezel around the outside of the grille that the pro grille doesn't have.

OP, you should be fine. I lifted my TRDOR, which had the sensor in the middle like yours and had no issue. Then out the Pro grille on and still no issues. Now there is a front camera centered at the top of it and still no issues. DCC still works perfectly. Not sure about the PCS system since I only had it brake for me once in town before lifting and then I turned the sensitivity down, but I'm assuming it's still functioning as well. With just replacing the bezel you're not changing anything about that system so don't worry.

No issues on my 2020. Did not disconnect the battery or do anything else out of the ordinary with the sensor.

I replaced my entire grill, including the bezel, and did not have a problem.

I did NOT disconnect the battery.

You will have no issues whatsoever. Take out the ugly chrome and install the SR bezel. Just be careful with those clips. Once you take out the grille, you will know what i mean. No need to disconnect the battery. You are not disconnecting the sensor.

I did that to mine, looks way better.

I changed out for a pro grill, I did disconnect the battery and no issues at all, all systems are working as they should!
