I just bought a 2012 4WD w/off road package and am thinking about installing a grill or bull guard. What effect will it have (if any) on front airbag deployment time? Online research is ambiguous at best. One article suggested Toyota will void the safety warranty. I dont want to make the vehicle less safe to me and passengers. Your thoughts? Thanks, Steve

A bolt on grille guard or bull bar won't affect air bag deployment. They can be body damage multipliers though since they really don't offer any protection to the front end in the event of an impact. Plate bumpers are another story.
