I have a 2019 TRD sport that I wanted to change the grill out because it’s cloudy. Seen lots that are metal. So when I open the hood there is a connection going to the back of it. Does ANYONE know what this is for?

You're on post 2 so I'll give you a break.
The Toyota Safety Sense radar sensor is located in the back of the emblem. That's what the plug is for.
You'll want a grille that can acommodate that, and some people have problems with aiming and calibration after swapping grilles.
Good luck, stick around, have fun.

Yea. It’s your TSS radar. It is used for adaptive cruise control

Thanks, I am coming over from a 2014 Tundra that did not have that technology. I thought that the eye in the top/middle of the windshield was for. Glad I asked before ordering from Summit racing. I really appreciate it.

You’re not wrong. There’s a camera sensor up there that is also used for several other features.
    Welcome!

If the foggy logo is bothering you, you can put tint or vinyl film over it. Neither interferes with the radar

Nice. Thank you. Bought it used but I love it. Way better gas mileage and still pulls the boat. I looked in the threads before I asked. I have had it for 3 months.

Find a used 20+ grill. Looks better and you'll get a new emblem. Or you could cover it with headlight tint.

Ordered and got it installed. I like the difference.
