My Westin Ultimate bull bar partially obscures the front parking assist camera. I was toying with the idea of moving it to the bull bar. It would have to be extended about 7.5" and lowered about 3.5". Does anyone have any experience with this type of thing? I'm trying to figure if it would even work before I extend wires or buy a harness. Thanks.

That's the solution I went with when I had my 2018 grille.

I later got a 2020 grille and bought a new bracket, moved the camera to the grille.

After a few off-roading trips I'll see how I like it there. May move it back to bull bar later.

For OP the solution linked above may be the best option.

For my bull bar, I had to shave some material off the back of the mounting bracket so the camera stud went far enough through to mate the two pieces without a gap.

Wow! Sounds like I should tread lightly here. I've removed and reinstalled the grille. Findpigtails.com has the connector. I'm asking about a male connector or pins. Sounds like I should try to save the OEM setup in case it doesn't work out.

ORTO, have you had any issues with camera view? The move would seem to just move the parking assist lines ahead a few inches and lower the top of the field of view. I don't plan on a lot of off-roading (you've got a sweet rig for that). For me, it's to look macho (kind of like tacticool).

Would this work on the nightshade grill?

No issues with camera view. I liked it clamped to the bull bar for the completely open and low view, but I didn't love the clamp and camera being so obvious. I prefer the cleaner look on the grille.

There is a little bit of blocking by the bull bar but nowhere near as much as yours, so I'm ok with it for now.

I don't think clamping to your bull bar is your best option, otherwise there is too much blocking of the ground for my liking.

The OEM connector looks like a Sumitomo 6 pin MT series connector. Does anyone have any insight on this? I'm going to look into opening the OEM wiring harness. It also encloses wiring to the radar sensor. I may be able to finagle enough slack in the existing wiring. If so, I'll make up some kind of housing for the camera. I'd end up with a black tube coming out of the grille and a bump under the upper tube of the bull bar, but not something totally obnoxious.
