22 SR5 V6 Taco, 03 SR5 V6 4runner

Okay so, technically I know that they can damage frame during even moderate crash but still I want it...

So has anyone had any actual protection benefit from it? or its worse because it can damage frame.. I am looking for one of those big ass steel grilles that cover up whole front & headlights.
