Grille LED Install

    I will be cutting out the center of my grille and installing mesh.....But in the mean time I wanted to install some LEDs. My first write up so comment away.

    Before:

    Remove your grille:

    These are what I decided to use. I got them at a local Kenworth dealership. If I can find a smoked version I'll probably switch them out for those:

    I decided to run them along the bottom side of the grill, centered in the spaces. So I measured and drilled 6, 3/4" holes:

    After drilling the holes I installed the rubber grommets and popped in the lights. A little glass cleaner makes them slide in easy:

    Next I cut off all the connectors and soldered everything together in parallel. Yellow probably wasn't the best colour to use for ground but I was out of white haha:

    I chose to wire mine to the little light in the top corner of my headlight. On my truck green=pos, white w black stripe=neg. Could also be wired to its own switch, DTRL's ect ect. Re-install your grille and enjoy:

    Total time was 3-4 hours. I used a cordless drill with a step bit to cut the holes, Wire cutters, soldering iron, wire strippers and solder.
