I cannot seem to get the retainer clips to budge on the lower half of the grille.. i need to replace my headlamps.. the top retainer clips were a breeze (regardless of how fragile they were) does anyone have any advice??

I did it.... Its awful. U need a long flat head screw driver and you're probably gonna have some broken clips. Just throwing it out there. Do you have the FSM or a Haynes? Just follow what they say and it will come off. My bumper was bent in by the PO and I had to bend it back out just to access the lower tabs on the PASS side. Its really hard to explain. I really do wish i could be more help...

Yeah, all of mine were brittle and I broke 3-4 of them. I have an 01 though so maybe yours is more difficult. Its a good thing the new grille came with new clips!
