Grille shell replacement

Hey, everyone! So, about two months I purchased a brand new black 2023 Tacoma TRD OR. About a week after purchase, I was driving down the interstate when something flew up and smacked the outer shell of my grille, creating a dent in it. Fortunately, no damage to the hood or anything else. However, I'm now trying to purchase a new outer shell, but would like some help finding the right thing.

I tried calling the dealership and purchasing a new shell, but they said I'd have to buy a whole new grille for $700! So I've been trying to search online for a replacement, but trying to find the correct thing has been difficult. Lol. Attaching some pictures to help show what I'm talking about. In the picture you can see the deformation in the shell around the middle area.

Any help would be much appreciated!

 

Gotta buy the entire grille. Your looking around 500 online for it.

 

Did something hit your grill surround? Like you witnessed the impact?

The reason I ask is my grill surround warped from the sun and was replaced under warranty.

If there is no paint damage, and you don’t remember an actual impact, maybe yours melted too? It seems all you need is a sunny day and to park near a low-e coated window.

 

Man, that really sucks. I just replaced the grille with a TRD PRO insert, too. Lol.
I've seen some on eBay that say they work for 2022's, but when I look up the part number it shows that it's for a 2017. Was hoping that would possibly work for mine. They look very similar.

Yes, sir. I guess someone threw a 20 ounce bottle or something in the air out of their window. I watched it fly up, and come down right into my grille. It was like watching something in slow motion, and there was someone in the lane next to me so I couldn't move out of the way.

 

Once in a blue moon you can find the surround on Craigslist. Might be worth looking into that or offer up, Facebook marketplace.

They do come pre-painted, so it should be a fairly simple process to purchase and replace the surround.

I waited while mine was repaired at the dealership. I was there maybe an hour.
