    Thanks Bruce!
Short story. Had a Weber Genesis for the past 15 years and of course all the innards rusted out. $400 for new guts but I want to go back to charcoal. Looked at BGE. Wandered over to Kamado Joe and was impressed. Cannot justify the cost for the full ceramic grills but I found this which seems like a great compromise.

Seems quite capable. Opinions welcomed! Anyone have experience with this bbqguys outfit? $100 cheaper than I can get it at Lowes and it blows the Weber kettle away.

Didn’t get any shots over the charcoal, but we had fajita meat from HEB. It’s really good food!

Live and learn, those chorizo patties fell apart. I had to scoop it out into a pan to finish it. It also started a pretty good grease fire. I need to clean my grill. It all tasted good so that part was a win.

honestly, I own a BGE and I’m intrigued by that, the biggest problem I foresee with that is you are always going to have your hot spot in the center of the grill where the charcoal is forced to be, depending on what/how much/how you typically cook, that might be a PITA.

Yeah, it’s really a glorified Weber with perks. Ended up ordering the KJ classic 2 and a slo roller. Very excited to venture into this new world! 57 don’t mean you can’t learn new tricks…:thumbsup:
It’s on clearance for $812 right now.

I am SO glad I looked the pork temperature up online before I smoked my chops yesterday because the cheat sheet that came with my temp probe says 165.
