Grinding gear noise again :( [video linked]

    Traction control also uses the ABS unit to modulate the brakes. It's all automatic, you don't need to be applying brakes for traction control to kick in. The ABS does not light up. And yes, it feels like a tire rub, but sounds kind of both a tire rub, grinding gear, and leaf spring creaking.

    All of you who have experienced this noise should look under your trucks for signs of contact by the rearmost U-joint. The leaf-sprung solid axle moves around a lot on hard side loads, and there's not a lot of clearance near that last U-joint.

    I know for me, it ended up fraying the edge of the gas tank skid a little from contact on hard left turns. I've never had it happen on a right turn, but if it does, could be contact with the muffler maybe?

    What are are mentioning is a completely different issue imo.
