Hey TW .. After re gearing to a 4.88 for my 35" tires.. I am hearing some grinding noise coming from the front differential when let go of the gas pedal speed @ 25mph ( off load) this noise only happened when I put on 4x4 mode.

Pretty much stock with some crap welded to it.
Doesn't sound good, subbed for the answer, did you install the gears?

Sounds like they weren't set up correctly, take it back to who ever set them up and have it looked at. Hopefully the installer will stand behind his work. I went through this on my 09 and Chase @ ecgs made it right.

There is art to setting gears up and even pros don't always get it right. The other issues could be the ADD (automatic differential disconnect) there is a fork that can end up on the "wrong" side of the collar resulting in the front wheels remaining locked even when in 2 wheel drive the front diff will continue to spin even though the transfer case is not engaged. The issues I had with my front diff was a bad pinion seal after installing the gears which ended up cooking a bearing and required new gears and bearing with less than 500 miles on the front diff. Have you changed the oil in it yet and checked for metal?

Absolutely right. Shimming the gears properly is a must. There is certainly an art to it and the person who installed them needs to get it right...
