Grinding noise from front right wheel. 2020 OR 4x4

    Sound started after beating it in the woods. In the woods it was a constant high pitch squeal. Now it’s just a rubbing sound at each rotation of the wheel. Can’t take wheel off right now since dealer cross threaded some lug nuts.

    anyone know where to look? Sound is a lot worse when wet.

    One is truck on the ground on springs and rocking it. Other is with the jack under the LCA to get the wheel in the air and free spinning it.

    hard to say with the videos but it sounds like it might be a bend backing plate making contact with the rotor, try and see if it is bent at all and rubbing.

    once I can take my wheel off I’ll check that. But wouldn’t that be constant grinding? This sound happens once poppet revolution.

    Update: Toyota replaced 3x lugs/studs after cross-threading during the service. The service advisor basically told me "This isn't a warranty job, so he's just doing it this one time" - I didn't have the time to tell him "You have the time to do this every time you screw up a customer's vehicle", especially since I had already decided I'll never be going back there for service anyway. Basically tried to strong arm me into saying it was my fault and my responsibility they NASCAR whipped the lugs on and jacked it up.

    :annoyed:

    ANYWAY, think it must have been a rock in there somewhere, since after they (I assume) had to remove the brake caliper for the front studs, no more noise. That was what I was planning on doing first when I went to take the wheel off, but got pushed out since I couldn't take the wheel off....

    Yes...could be backing plate bent or something lodged in the brake or backing plate.
