The shaft and its splines on the transmission all look good, there is no side to side play in the shaft that I can feel. There is maybe 1/16" of in out play on the shaft, but not sloppy at all. The input seal on the transmission looks clean too, no noticeable damage or leaks. When I get back on Monday I'll make an updated video showing more of that stuff too. I'm gonna check the torque converter for run out too.

Update for anyone searching this thread or having the same issues. We just got an OEM flexplate from toyota. It looks much better built and it doesn't match our replacement we bought from Autozone. I made a quick video showing all 3 flex plates, the one that the truck came in with, the autozone replacement and the OEM one we just got.

Bro....that was the problem guys. We just hooked everything back up and zero grinding. Thank you all for the help and advice. We have taken this transmission out now 4 times, let this be a lesson that some stuff really just needs to be OEM.

Thank you, this truck definitely tested my patience lol.

Im not gonna lie, I use quite a bit of parts store stuff. Its easy when they come with lifetime warranties, for the most part I dont have issues. For these trucks we always use OEM ball joints and now I will always use OEM flex plates lol.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Glad you got it sorted !!

Quality control seems so hit or miss on so many parts .

Rotating parts are super critical .

I believe they do this at the factory so they know which was the first bolt they torqued

Congrats on figuring it out. I also buy a lot of aftermarket parts, but there are some things that are not worth doing twice.
