Hey, all. Had a quick question. I am planning on running a Pioneer 4 Channel Amp underneath my drivers seat and a Kicker 400 mono amp to power a 10 inch sub underneath the passenger seat.

I will have a 4 gauge power wire running into a distribution block next to the Pioneer amp with a 4 gauge and 8 gauge coming out to go their respective amps. I will also have a distribution block for the ground wires set up the same way. I will be using the grounding location in front of the drivers seat on the hump.

My question concerns the length of the 8 gauge ground wire going to the distribution block on the drivers side. It will be more than 1.5 feet. The wire run will go underneath the center console and mate with the distribution blocks near the outer seat rail on the drivers side. I’m guessing that will be about 4 feet. Is this too long for the 8 gauge ground wire? Thanks!

Thanks. I've just got it programmed into my head that the grounding point shouldn't be far from the amp.

Longer runs can add to ground loop issues so it’s best to keep them short but if you do have a problem you can install ground loop isolators.
