If you want to add some grounds go make your own kit. I have done this in the past on a few vehicles. Just get some 4 guage audio power wire and some gold plated grounding connectors. It should only cost you about $30-40 depending on how much wire you use. When I did my DIY grounding kit on my last vehicle. I had 3 Grounds: Body to transmission (replaced existing factory ground strap), Body to Alternator housing, and Body to Intake Manifold. Although I didn't notice any performance gains (NEVER TRUST YOUR BUTT DYNO, IT'S A FILTHY ROTTEN LIAR!) I did notice less dimming of my dash lights at night when under load (my stereo system turned up, and AC running)

I bet you could do it for 10 dollars at canadian tire. I'm still on the fence, mostly because i simply dont have the time to try it. I'm curious to see the difference since i have the 6 spd manual

The only difference I noticed is the smoother shifting in my auto, I have no clue what it would do in a 6spd.

Theres gotta be some correlation about freeing up some of the drain on the electrical power system, because the resistance on the TB is so high. I figure since the manual tranny uses less power then the automatic transmission. Might free me up even more power

soooo....of this debating back and forth, it seems that there has been many opinions on this matter going both ways...

OP states smoother shifting in his auto

No results yet from a manual yet?

is this really a worth while mod? or did i just waste 5 minutes of my life reading through this thread?

What does a throttle body have to do with shifting since the TB has no gears?
Maybe you should drill some holes in the butterfly valve to increase airflow. and ground your transmission while your at it.

I just grounded my cell phone for gits and shiggles and woah! I got 4g instantly, on AT&T at that :D

I dont understand how there is electrical resistance on the TB? a cable moves and the valve opens...

i think all 05+ are fly by wire. IE you push the gas pedel down and it sends a electronic signal to the TB which opens and closes the valve. No more cable. I know my 09 has it but i dont know how far back it goes.

Yup, electrical sensor system, not a real wire.

What is it in that uses the throttle body as a ground. If nothing uses it as a ground, i see no benefit to this.

That being said, I may grab a piece of wire and do this if I'm bored later.

this is correct and if the motor wasnt grounded it wouldnt move at all. The motor still has an electrical ground. even though the throttle body has resistance, if you pull the connector to the throttle actuator it will have a proper ground with very little resistance. the motor gets grounded via the wiring harness not the throttle body so grounding the TB will not have any effect on the motor.

when i say motor i mean the throttle servo motor.

If you ground your earlobes, you'll shit smoother.

just because there is resistance on the TB does not mean it will place a load on the electrical system. there is a lot of resistance from the rear of the frame to the battery. however, it is still a ground and a good ground at that. grounding does not mean that it has to have 0 resistance to the negative of the battery. A ground just has to be a common return path.

also, if a load on the electrical system was noticeable there would be a performance difference when your lights are on or off. I doubt anyone can feel the difference from that.
