    Just put mine in today!

Excited to drive to work tomorrow and see how it really runs.

    For general info:

My truck has TRD supercharger & -3° exhaust cam gears.
So far, the truck started up and idles fine well I flipped around in the driveway.
Install was easy enough as well. Sub 1hr for certain.

I feel bad about this but I have to drop out of this group buy - I really do apologize for the inconvenience @SUMOTNK

But I definitely still want to encourage others to sign up! Think of my leaving as adding another spot for someone else...

    You have my interest.

How do these actually create power though? You only have a certain amount of range you can throw the vvti cam and with HPtuners you can command pretty much whatever value you want (though its not verified that one is reaching those desired angles), are the OEM ones just not flowing enough / reacting quickly enough?

The theory behind these solenoids are that they are a "hotter" solenoid, reacting faster, etc. But details are proprietary to the manufacturer.

Thats what I figured. Honestly surprised at the claimed gains on our trucks, the stock tune VVTi angles dont change much at WOT for quite a lot of the revs then quickly drop off for the later part. Its not like they are constantly changing.

@SUMOTNK Hey I have a question for you, do you know if Red Bullet Solenoids makes a VVT-i solenoid for the 2005-2014 2TR 4 cylinder trucks? I did not see one listed on their website, nor did I see one on their competitors website you have listed in the OP. Thanks!

@nickonfire700 i dont know the answer to that, but I'll start looking into it. Quite a few of these solenoids cross platforms and models between toyota and lexus.

Hey, I actually emailed them last night, and heard back from Max, who said he is able to get a solenoid from a Toyota Innova that also has the 2TR in it. I will be ordering through their website, though.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
Might have took a half hour for this swap. Hardest part was getting the connector loose from the driver side solenoid. I had already replaced the filter screens back in September when I did the head gasket job, so didn’t need to do that. Nice I installed mine on last week as well. I was doing a few other things so already had the TB off. Swapped my 76mm TB back on with the solenoids.

truck feels good but hard to say what difference it was but feels smoother. I swapped the TB, Solenoids, cleaned intake, TB and MAF and swapped my tune and FPR back to boost reference. I was running a different tune for FPR and stock TB for smog check the past 2 weeks.

But before that I’d say it is slightly better. Just for kicks work my heavy truck (6800-7000lbs) I did some drives and a quick 0-60 time and it knocked off a 1/10 of a second since last time which would have been the same sans solenoids. (8.22 vs 8.13) actual is about 2.5% faster factoring Speedo/ecu maybe more. No race care but for how heavy and on heavy 35’s not badz I’ll assume it’s 7’s ha now only to loose 1000lbs.

Took longer than a lunch break but I wanted to get it right. Strange but I swear it feels smoother as well. Maybe it's the cold weather or placebo effect. I don't drive in 2/3rd all the time so maybe all the RPM feels good to hammer down.

Hey, I noticed you have the URD TB adapter on your engine. Which size TB did you go with and did you notice a difference at all powerwise or with mpg? Been thinking about doing this on my 4.0 but wanted to talk to someone whoa actually has it installed. Thanks
