I also have a 76mm but S/C and tuned. Pickup seems quicker. Hard to say if it gave me a to much but it was a nice add on. I may try the 70mm if I was not boosted

Thanks guys, probably add that one to my mod list as well as it's easy enough for me to do myself.

If you have (or capable of) successfully removed/replaced your intake tract and throttle body, you're 99% capable of doing the solenoid install.

If you have installed the intake manifold spacer successfully, you're 99% capable of the install.

The hardest part of the solenoids install is not losing the 10mm nuts that secure the bracket when you spin them on and off.

You're missing that you can purchase them from me for a hundred dollars less. Remaining sets from the GB.

It’s actually $399 but probably not what you’re looking for even at that price.

Not always about max HP......not always about $. Not a product for everybody.

But the info is there for a person to decide.

It could be said from your build thread, you spent $250 on a TRD intake for making more sounds or your $180 HPS silicone coolant permeates coolant at a higher rate than compared to stock $25 EPMD hoses but no one really needs to shat on you. Just enjoy that you have options in potential mods that make improvements and the fact @SUMOTNK has done a lot of favors to help out on his own time to get these kind of mods out there. I've run several group buys before and it's of little return to the host.

    Whole lotta stuff
Besides the possible power gains, there’s the throttle response, sharper accuracy of the VVT-i, and if yours need to be replaced anyways (like mine), it’s kinda an easy decision the way I see it.

I have teh 70mm TB on my truck and it's a worthwhile mod IMO if you can find a 70MM TB fairly priced. The engine reacts quicker and is more responsive. I have been running it for 8 years no problems.

Shit, I'm going 76mm if I'm gonna do it. Mine as well go big if I'm spending the time to do it haha.

Hope your truck has a blower on it if you go 76mm. If you are NA, the 70mm will probably be better.

So you're saying the bigger one would be overkill basically? I guess that makes sense, I'm tossing around the idea of adding a SC in the future but wouldn't be for a while.

Not overkill. I'm saying if you are naturally aspirated, your engine is a vacuum pulling in air. With a larger opening, the intake charge velocity will/may be slower if you aren't boosted.

Use a McDonald straw and suck water out of a bucket. You'll pull in mouthful and mouthful of water.

Use a 2" PVC pipe as a straw and suck water out of the same bucket. You'll hardly get a drink at all.

Either not enough vacuum (lungs) or way less volume (water) ingested.....compared to the straw.

Larger isn't always better in every scenario. If you intend to get a super charger, then the 76mm is the way.

I'll go with the 70 then. I can always switch it up down the road if need be.

My throttle response greatly improved with the 70mm.
I am running NST lightweight pulleys which also help.
My engine is more responsive then the transmission allows most of the time.
Need a transmission tune or valvebody upgrade to really bring it back to a more cohesive experience.
On the fence on which setup to pick ( HP Tuners or OTT)

I was looking at the NST pulleys but would rather go with a Fluidampr type pulley, for the crank at least. I searched and could only find one for the 1st gen V6's. I've run lightened pulleys on other engines before without issue, but after reading up on what your crank pulley actually does and the vibrations that can be transferred internally to the engine, I'm wanting to go a different route. I'd like my engine to stay as reliable as possible while modified.
