To me it just makes sense to have the 2LO switch right under the selector know rather than on the other side of the steering wheel.

Same, although I ended up taking the head unit out. Pretty simple, tons of room.

What I really want to do is have a switch for my (eventual) rear locker mounted up top like it is in the OR model....

Switch pro is awesome. I’ll never not do it (or something similar) in a future vehicle. Makes life soooooo much easier

Agreed. Plus my brake controller resides over there. Until I get the red arc there is no room for switches.

    Well...

I am working on a custom bluetooth device and android app to control 4 lights on my roof rack.

    The switch matrix is..

    Left front right front
    Left rear right rear
    Front right rear right
    Left rear right rear
    All 4 on

App is crude but works. Working on adding in control of a set of rgbw lights to control color as well.

Well there you go... Lol. It's a great idea and tying it into an app is an awesome way to make it universal. It's so amazing that we have access to tons of off the shelf modules like that at a seriously low cost.

Are you writing the app to be customizeable or is it just for your particular application? I just got a 3 pack of the Raspberry Pi Pico boards to play with. At less than $5, they are insanely powerful and cheaper than any genuine Arduino. I'm thinking that will be the basis for developing something for the locker anytime when I get around to it.

The app is specific to my needs. But would not take much to change it up to be customized.

The relay board i used also comes in an 8 channel version.
I have a 4 channel 30 amp relay board than I can wire into this one which is 10amp to control higher current loads. By using the 10 amp smart relay as a trigger for the 30amp standard relay board.

It is a because I can project. And something to challenge myself. I used the MIT app inventor site as the development environment. Since my android development skills are not to great lol

So it’s basically a wireless Switch-Pros at a lower price point with some assembly required?

Hey whatever works. I did something similar with an el-cheapo (~$10) servo board and an arduino for a project. It let me control a dozen Rc servos with just some serial comands and a tiny bit of code. I still don't understand how they can make these things so cheap.

I'm no app developer either and my normal programming realm is PLC ladder. I've done a bit of arduino, but I really want to get into the Micro Python. It just looks so user friendly.

Pretty much. If you have any desire to learn new things you can make a switch pro for a lot less money. It's also wireless between the control point and power relays so literally zero wires through the firewall required, provided all your loads are outside the cab. That alone is an awesome feature IMHO, even thoug I have zero need for it.

Finally got around to installing it today (it had been sitting in my box of things for a couple months), thanks you to all y'all who did great write ups and photos!

The hardest part was honestly pulling the air bag and figuring out how I wanted to best secure the relay and wires.

I decided to run the the switch up to the overhead console and used a MESO switch panel to give me another blank switch spot.

I took the sun-visor off and was able to fish the switch end through the headliner pretty easily from there.

Finally installed this today even though it's been sitting on my garage shelf for over a year. Knowing that I had to pull the center console to install the 2 Low switch in the center row of switches was keeping me procrastinating.

I installed the switch directly below the 4X4 knob which makes it very convenient to operate. I honestly don't know why I put this mod off for so long since I have a MT and absolutely hate using reverse on any incline.

I always avoided 4 low on dry pavement but gives me incentive to use lower gears without fear of binding. Definitely worth the $ and time spent. Thanks for a great mod @lapoltba

I have my lovely harness and I should have some time to install soon. Switch is on the way...

One question; where would one find the how to install the harness? I recall seeing mention of someone posting the how-to (hopefully step by step!) but I cannot locate it.

    :help:
Is it located on THIS very thread? (I've gone through half of it looking already and no luck so far... :annoyed:

The DIY thread on the 2 lo mod is for a full DIY... (no harness).
