    THIS. Excellent feedback. The numbers you're reporting is exactly why I returned the 240 and went with the 500. My solar will be here this week (went with renogy) that should only help with staying planted at camp for a day or 3. Mine will run the fridge, fan and a few other accessories (tent lights etc.)

    Please keep us updated. I remember reading somewhere that other brand solar panels have to use some kind of adapter to charge the unit. So I'll be curious to know if it is plug and play or if something else is needed to get the Renogy solar panel connected to the Jackery. I'll also be curious to compare how much input the Renogy provides as compared to the Jackery SolarSaga panel.

    A couple of announcements and updates:

    1.) Due to low stock, the Amazon promotion on the E500 has stopped. As a result, we also lost the $20 incentive to go through the Group Buy. That means that the Group Buy price on the Explorer 500 unit is back up to $449. That's still a good deal; but again $20 is $20.

    2.) Our Group Buy code has expired. However, this was not intentional and our Group Buy is to continue. I'm waiting for a new code that should not expire anytime soon.

    3.) As of this morning, there were 10 units remaining on the Explorer 500. I'm guessing most people who were looking before probably picked them up during the recent promotion, so hopefully those don't sell out before we get an updated code.

    4.) Also due to the low stock on the E500, Jackery has agreed to open up Group Buy pricing on the E1000!!!! So for those who are still interested, shoot me a PM and I'll get you the code as soon as it is known.

    Will do. MC4/8MM adapter is needed for 240 and 500. The 500 can take up to 65w max input via solar so the 100w I got should suffice.

    Let me know when there's a code. I'm interested in the e1000 plus the 100w solar. Thanks

    Would have liked to get in on this, but too many past misrepresentations from Jackery.

    Things like:

    "Honda by Jackery" labeling that implied Honda generator performance and reliability.

    Published specs that did not match product, such as Pure Sine Wave advertised when the product was actually Modified Sine Wave.

    Published ads showing nice looking LCD panels, when the products actually contained cheap chinese LCDs.

    Interesting. Can you please share more information?

    The few pictures that people have posted in this thread show LCD screens that look exactly like the ones advertised. What model had the cheap chinese LCD? Can you link to a post or article that shows this?

    I have the same question regarding the pure sine wave vs. modified sine wave inverter. Can you link a post or article explaining this?

    One member posted that he had a "Honda" generator that was actually made by Jackery and thought that spoke volumes to the reliability of the unit. It sounds like you are saying that it does not have that reliability.

    To be clear, I'm not saying that I don't believe you. What I am saying is that I've done a fair amount of research that has lead me to believe they are a high quality product. So if that is not the case, I want to do a deeper dive to either uncover some truth or at least find out more information about the claim.

    Also interesting. Good to know about the charge input how it favors the AC over the solar. I'd be interested in seeing a comparison with an actual solar panel as opposed to an AC inverter that simulates a solar panel. I doubt there would be any difference, but I don't know anything about the solar simulators. I also find it interesting that it is limited to 30W input. I would have thought it would be higher since they sell a 100W panel. I think I read that the expected output of a 100W panel is actually closer to 60W....so I would expect the limit to be closer to 60W at a minimum.

    The info was gleaned from a SlickDeals thread last year, on now-discontinued products.

    The comments that I read through, I didn't see anything that would stop me from purchasing.

    Thank you for the insight though.

    Honda by Jackery would be the proper name since Honda acquired Jackery.

    Jackery has one of the best warranties out of all the manufacturers of these units.

    I think if you purchased any other unit from any other manufacturer you would end up paying more then what you are getting ... Goal Zero..as an example... Or a unit that has been vulnerable to all kinds of manufacturing defects.

    While I understand your skepticism, I think you are wrong on this particular brand, and it is a solid purchase that has been reviewed and praised by numerous professional and non-professional people.

    Especially if you actually could use one, this would be the manufacturer to purchase from with its 2 year warranty and proven performance.

    You should be good to go if you can get consistent 65 watts an hour charging off of solar. I really love this unit as it was priced perfectly and the performance was awesome for a 3 day weekend being very dependent on it for the fridge.

    Anyone with the 500 care to take some detailed measurements of length width and height ?

    These are as close as I can get. The unit is curved so using a tape measure is a little difficult to be completely exact but these measurements will be within 1/4 inch.

    Height = 9 1/2 inches
    Length = 11 3/4 inches
    Width = 7 1/2 inches
