I started to work on the plate today. Got a thin piece of aluminum from a local steel shop and cut it with a band saw.

    CIMG0220_2a79399898129b89f40600ec45f13d7a6c59c933.jpg

    smoothed out the edges
    CIMG0230_b302e0424d565fb7ca19e076d939b834fdb0cee8.jpg

primed it and drilled some holes for a test fit.
    CIMG0242_7afad4a0815e85b9a2785f88e853ec9efc973c76.jpg

instead of bending the piece, I found a L shaped bracket and drilled some holes so it'll bolt onto the factory holes.
    CIMG0243_28d1d4429b1bd9ca199e497febed8bb55e4badd9.jpg

then I finally rattle canned it. I'm going to start the wiring tomorrow. I attempted to unwire a bunch of stuff and cut a bunch of zip ties, then just said forget it. Too much work to start and I was starting to lose light outside. I'll post and updated pic tomorrow when I get done.

MJonAgs32, do you know what size bolts are needed for the factory fender mounts. I already made by bracket for this and my relays but just can't find a bolt that fits.

tooblutacoma06 told me M8x12, but when I tried to screw them in, those were too big. I didn't want to run back to the hardware store so I just retapped the factory mounts to fit the screws I had bought.

Either tooblutacoma06 mistakenly gave me the wrong size, or the holes are different for other people, I don't know. You'll have to do some trial and error.

Here's my finished product... kinda. Still have to get the labels and a couple of small odds and ends. I also relocated my hood lights to the panel.

I'm still an electrical novice. Redoing my super crappy noob wiring from 4 years ago and rewiring them to the fuse block took a good 5 hours today.

Edit: Oh I also hardwired my air compressor behind the back seats.

I still want to make a plastic cover for the plate. Maybe put hinges on it. Probably will do that in a few weeks.

Cool. How hard is it to find that in the dark? A lighted switch would be cool, but that might drain the battery after a while. Like if you don't drive it over a long weekend.
