I only picked tghe ARB cause its selectable. I drive on the asphalt a bit n wanna be able to unlock it when need be. And ya don't hafta have a compressor to run an air locker. A Co2 bottle for a kegerator will work for a lot longer than you would think

i may want an arb for the front....
wonder how much stress that would put on a long travel suspension with tundra 1st gen axels...
    hmmm

I think when the time comes I'm just gonna spool lock the front diff. If I need 4wd after a rear locker in engaged, I'm already in trouble

Yes it is. I wouldn't be able to justify the extra $400 for a selectable though. If I need the front wheels spinnin, I want em both to work

I don't think you want a spool in the front its pretty hard to control with a spool in the front.

Do it!! This is what I will eventually end up with. I would be curious to see if it doesnt snap axles as easy because maybe the tundra axles are stronger????

are you only geared in the rear?????

this^^ driving on road with that would suck ass

im not sure... tundra axels would be stronger i would think cause it has a bigger engine turning them, but it will also have much more stress because they are longer so more room to twist

Going to swap to a fabricated 9" axle at some point. Figured it's a good time to get parts together to make the front match. :p

That is true. But I would think they would be made for that since they are under a heavier, more powerful truck. I will be really curious to see how it goes if you do decide to go this route.
