Group Buy--Jowett Performance Filter Housing with Fuomoto drain valve

I have the Pro skid plate and it has a door for access.

Didn’t make a lot of difference as in my first service the shitty tech took the plate off and dropped it putting a bunch of large scratches into it.

I might do worse off-road but it’s still annoying.

 

since i do not off road, i mat just cut a hole in it and put a door latch

 

Anyone receive theirs yet?

I received mine many months back, since I was part of the first group, but I haven't installed it yet. As someone else mentioned, the valve
is NOT a Fumoto valve, but some kind of knock-off, which is a bit disappointing. The rest of the kit seems to be very well made.

 

Thanks for the reply. That sucks on the valve knock off. I'm currently sitting on a new Fumoto valve too and hitting my 60k service interval soon. Was hoping to install the new oil filter.

 

Hi folks. The valve is not a knock off, but rather an improved version that is a better design fit for this application. The EZ Valve is manufactured and supplied by Fumoto, however, they like to keep the name brands separate. The Viton o-ring base seal with groove on the EZ is a far superior seal to the fiber washer that is included with the Fumoto, especially considering the pressure that it is required to seal. A copper crush washer or an o-ring centered metal washer can be used to seal the Fumoto, but it's an old school inferior way to provide a life time seal for the job at hand. The only cost savings on my end are one less little part, that being a copper washer or o-ring centered metal washer, otherwise my cost is the same.

With the above info, If someone would prefer a raw brass steampunk looking inferior sealing Fumoto branded valve on their cap, you may order the cap with the standard drain plug and install one on your end. Again, I don't like the seal style for this application, never mind the look.... if you already have a cap and would prefer the Fumoto, drop me a note and we can talk... I want everyone happy and would never intentionally try to misrepresent what I am supplying, if anyone feels I have, please drop me note, I'll make it right.
