yessur! i've considered swapping out the cheap internal ballasts for OEM stuff but that's a whole 'nother thread.
yeah when going camping my friends are notorious for waiting until dark to fully set up camp. the more light in the rear, the better. nothing at all wrong with the HIDs but as you said the charge time gets annoying. i'll now have to think about those but will prob go with 2 6" doubles because they are cheaper and i don't exactly need to go all out back there :D thanks! i'll put my order in sometime in the next few weeks.

Finally got the bar mounted, and the truck washed. Part 2 of my review.

The 30” bar was a little bigger than I expected. When I read 30” id assume the outside dimensions would be 30” inches. Thats not the case and it made fitment a little difficult where I wanted it. I do not know if this is the same with all manufactures, or if they’re going by the inside dimension of the light. I was unable to retain the old light bar(Although it was only for cosmetic appearance) and custom brackets had to be made.

    Overall width: 31 ⅜”
    Height: 2 ⅞
    Depth: 3 ⅜

    Bracket:
    Height - 3 ¼
    Height to hole - 2 ⅞
    Width - 1 ¾

For my brackets, I went with ⅛” scrap steel I had from another project. Re-used my old light bar holes and it fit pretty well. Had to do some tweaking to squeeze the bar between the mounts, as when they were vertical they were narrower than the bar. Ended up with a sort of V shaped bracket for my specific install.

The cord was the perfect length for my install(3 ft). I didn't have to trim or extend it, depending on where you want to mount this it may be short. Keep that in mind. I re-used my switch and relay from my Hella 700 hid conversions so I only had to do minimal wiring. I ran the cord through my grill and connected it to my existing wires near the driver side headlight.

After going through the pictures I noticed the bars ends looked twisted. I thought it might be an illusion from the camera, but after looking at the light... it was. It was easy to figure out why... while tightening the bolts it appears to twist the bar slightly. I had to hold the light steady while I tightened. This could be from the extruded aluminum body being too thin, or just because its so long. Im not positive but I dont see it being a problem.

And the part everyones been waiting for... light output. I took pictures on 2 different nights with the same camera settings. I wanted to compare my HID’s to this bar as well as my headlights. The HID’s imo are great pencil beams. But around here we have a lot of curvy roads and a 5’ circle on the tree’s in front of you sucks. The light bar does an AWESOME job at distance and flood light. On the back roads it lights up the sides as well as further down. Perfect IMO.

And mounted pics. Enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions.

So I tested the three inch pods and I think I got sent flood instead of spot which I ordered I can't quite tell as they through light everywhere. They are half as bright as my roommates 6" round led light which has 12 LEDs in it but rated at 750 lumens and the 3" pods are rated at 1200 lumens.....so I'm not too excited about that but I will be using them as fogs anyways so they don't have to be super bright. But these lights are either way overrated as far as lumen output or the other lights I compared them to are way underrated. This could have to do with me getting the flood light version vs the spot but once again I'm not sure it's not listed on the light.....I will say these lights are very well built and compact. I will probably get a few more just to use as auxiliary lights in the rear or sides of my truck. Can't wait to get the 6" bars to compare them to

Thanks for posting this. You just answered all the questions I was about to ask. I have a set of the Hella 500's with HIDs and was curious to see the difference between them and the light bars.

What is the wattage of your friends 6"? The 3" pod lights are rated in actual "out-the-front" lumens as measured in an integrating sphere both at the production factory and by an independent US based testing lab.

The best way to tell if unsure is that the spot will have a smooth reflector. Flood will be ridged inside. See attached photos.

You are welcome to send them back for a full refund.

I have literally sold hundreds of the 3" pods and this is the first comment I have heard about them not being bright. I have received more than I can count stating the opposite.

Mine are flood for sure and now it makes sense why his spots are brighter than my floods at a distance......whew I was starting to get worried for a second. Build quality is great though

Here is the light next to my STOCK headlight......and it's a flood pod so I'm doing it a favor by shining it so close to my garage door

How long does this offer stand? I have to buy a helmet light but after I buy it I want to invest in a 12 or 20" light bar.

Obviously you do t have a stock bumper but how do you think that 30" would look in my lower valence? I have a satoshi grill mesh in there now but that would come out and be replaced by the light.....not sure if that would be too low or not? Thoughts?

Yes I do. Has a year warranty so reliability shouldn't be a problem.
