All those who bitched should have to pay retail. All the work you did out of the kindness of your heart and with a generous spirit... you have my heartfelt gratitude, and while I understand why you would never want to do this again, please know that the majority of us out here are proud to know there are good people such as yourself...

This all reminds me of the story of the man and his young son out for a walk. The son sees two dogs in the middle of the street humping. The son asks his father "Daddy, what are those two dogs doing?" "Well son", said the father, "the one dog is just helping the other dog across the street. "Isn't that just the way", replied the son, "you help someone out, and you get screwed".

    Dgerm,
You are doing a great job. Keep doing what you are doing. Hopefully we will have the remaining order filled.

Not that I don't completely understand where you're coming from, and I'd be ticked off myself, but it honestly doesn't make me feel all that great to see you complaining about it here on a largely owner/customer based website.

Especially when on truckalterations.com, the PL5300 part is selling for $48, whereas the group buy got it for (apparently) dealer cost, which was $30. Doesn't give me a warm, happy feeling as a potential customer (I missed the group buy, although tried PMing to get in before this order was submitted...) knowing that there's a 60% markup on this product. And for your "special" Tacomaworld discount on this product, you shave off 99 cents to make it $47 instead. Was hoping the special pricing would work out better than 2% off... :(

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

And this comment could have been dealt within a PM instead of calling out a wonderful company that offers an INCREDIBLE deal on Tonneau covers to Tacomoaworld.

Guess it sat wrong with me that a company was complaining that people here were able to get a product without them being able to mark it up 60% for us first. And then checking to see that the special TacomaWorld discount for the prodcut was 99 cents off... Perhaps they are great in other areas, but this doesn't appear to be one of them.

Edit: Looks like I made it onto Dgerm's list after all, so most of this becomes a moot point, I guess. Thanks, Dgerm! :)

I am not a member of the group buy but I ordered a PL5300 tailgate lock from my dealer a few months ago. The dealer's parts guy called Pop & Lock today and was told that they shipped out 20 orders so far and had a backlog of 500. I am lucky since one of the orders shipped out is for my dealer. He said I should get it Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

Sorry but I kinda agree. Yes, I would have words to my supplier if they were selling direct through the same channels as me but I would not come around here complaining about it. Show class and congratulate us on scoring a good deal. Then pick up the phone and have at it with P&L.

TruckAlt is a great company and I am not bashing them. Luke helped me with my tonneau choices and steered me in a direction that I am very happy with at a price that can't be beat. I was just surprised that he came onto this thread and complained about what we are doing.

I wouldn't have said it otherwise...I am just agreeing with what was already spoken.

I didn't get in on the buy because I purchased my truck recently, however I order the 5300 from a truck option store on line, paide $20 more then you guys and they are backlog also. I can't figure out why popalock is not busting thier ass filling these back orders. Bottom line quit busting this guys ass about the oders its not his fault that popalock is a bunch of slackers.

60% markup??? thats nothing, for small items like this its normally 100%-300%.

Especially since they verbalized their frustrations - specifically regarding THIS group buy.

    See sig.....

    Make that x4:):):):).

I know it's got to be a royal pain in the a$$ trying to get this sorted when the company apparently can't get their s**t together.

Thanks for continuing to try and get this thing settled in the best manner possible for everyone involved.
