Losing out on $40, if that what it comes to, is obviously not going to break me. It's the principle of the whole thing that pisses me off.

Are there any TW members that live in the Blacksburg area that would be willing to check up on him? Oh, and to ask him when he's planning on shipping the p&l's?

This is a great way to do it. I set up a group buy for the RedlineTuning hood dampers last year. All I had to do was get a minimum commitment to get the price bracket, then everyone would contact Redline with their orders and the company dealt with everything (they actually set up a website for us to place orders). I didn't have to handle any cash and everyone received their orders fairly quickly, and I believe were pretty happy.

It's a good model to use for group buys.

I know many are thinking it, and I'll just be the first to say it, but it would appear at this point that there is a possibility we've been scammed. I hope I'm wrong, but until I receive my lock in the mail, that's the assumption I'm going to make. Even once Daniel finally received the locks from P&L, he continued to make excuses as to why he couldn't ship them, even after members such as myself offered solutions. For all we know the thread he started on having the flu might have been fake as well. I sent him a check 18 days ago for the additional shipping charge, which is more than enough time for him to get it to me. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong.

I think at this point it is important to understand the depth of the situation, and how many members may be out money on this. Are we talking 10 or 100 members? Please post your username, the model ordered, and how much money you're out at this point.

    Incorrect...

His last post was on 10/05/09 reporting that he had the flu...
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/health/55199-eff-flu.html#post997029

He is still listed on the Virginia Tech Men's Rugby roster...
    http://www.hometeamsonline.com/teams/default.asp?u=VTRUGBY&t=c&s=htosports&p=profile&playerID=33303
Isn't it IRONIC that his position is "Lock"

I don't think he's scamming us - I think he is just to damn lazy to finish the job that he started. He's in college for nuclear (something) and plays Rugby. Add in the drinking and girls and you have a pretty full schedule.

Fortunately, as we've seen in other scam's that went bad, you can't hide on the internet. He'd be pretty stupid to try it.

I paid for the PL5300 along with the additional $3.00 Total about $42.00??? Someone in the area of VT should drop by. Check to see if he is really sick or what. Why won't he just reply or give some type of reason for the vanishing act.

I sent $59.01 back in March for an 8520. Those were the locks that weren't on the latest invoice from P&L. I've been waiting patiently and I'm not busted for cash, but an update once in a while should be provided. After all, all the money has been sent and it shouldn't be too terribly tough to check in every other day or so.

He could be really ill......otherwise, there is just no excuse. Someone in the area should check on him to see how he is doing at the very least.

I certainly hope he comes back to iron this out and if he doesn't then he should be banned until he makes things right. This was my first GB as a brand new member; and not that the $35 or so would break me, but I am sure glad the other purchases I have made on or because of this site have worked out much more favorably.

I do not believe it is a scam... At least i hope not. it is pretty bad that we have not heard anything, but if Daniel has the Flu and is studying to become a mad nuclear scientist and participates in collegiate athletics, i can see that he has a lot on his plate and he probably has received a buttload of questions regarding this GB and i am sure they are not the most patient questions or requests...

I realize that I don't post here much and come here for knowledge but bottom line this guy has taken money from people and needs to come through or face the consequence on principle alone. 40 isn't going to hurt me one bit but deliver the product promised is all that is expected.

I'm not buying it. You all can continue to make excuses for him, but the fact of the matter is that by sponsoring a group buy, he contracted with each of us to send us a tailgate lock in exchange for money. He's had our money for 5 or 6 months, and has had the locks for close to 6 weeks now, I believe. His last update to this thread was on 9/29, over 2 weeks ago. Being quite the social butterfly at school, or even having the flu, is no excuse. It should only take him 60 seconds to log on and post yet another excuse as to why he still can't send them out.
