Lucky for the 3 day weekend so that I can spend some time on it and hopefully fine tune it, get the brackets installed and find the rattle source. I didn't have any rattles when the dual 10's were in there so I'm pretty certain it is the passenger bin not installed correctly or something.

Oh wait a second. You don’t have your brackets in yet. That’s your rattle. Just for shits, go out to your truck, turn it up, sit in the driver rear and fold the passenger rear seat down, take your fingers and plug the two screw holes on the top of the sub where the brackets go. Gauran-damn-tee you the rattle is gone.
When I installed mine, I didn’t put the brackets in, wanted to make sure all was well. I had this weird rattle and whistle, sounded like the sub was blown. Went insane for an hour trying to find it. Put my fingers over the two screw holes and the noise was gone.

Funny you say that, today on my way home from work I am going to fold down the passenger side seat to see if rattle occurs and then I'll also do your trick. Now that you say that I bet the threaded area in the box is open into the box and bolts act as a plug so technically right now it's a ported box ha ha.

Last night I installed the L brackets and this morning I still have a rattle, but I'm pretty certain it is the passenger panel the sub box is in in that it's missing a clip or something and not installed correctly.

Still working on tuning. So far I think this sub has a nice good punch and some good bass rolls. At times I think I hear the sub bottom out, but still need to confirm that.

Are any of you still using the oem head unit with your sub? If so, what are you using as your line out converter or are you using a high input connection on the amp? How are you getting around the fact that the oem head unit minimizes the bass notes after a certain volume level? I am using the audio control lc7 and it's supposed to correct that, but I don't think it is as I feel the bass is more pronounced at or below volume 25, but if I go over that it doesn't appear it increase. I tuned my system originally to be around volume level 35 (60% of max).

I'm in the same boat man, I'm installing a 5 channel amp at the moment which has speaker level inputs so I originally was not going to us an LC7, but need to find a bass roll off/competent EQ solution. For now, I am just going to run my door speakers. Long term, hell even short term, a new head unit would make things a lot easier and simpler.

    Working on that part
I just installed mine today with the XD700/5 amp

I used taco tunes wiring harness and it was pretty easy with that.

Now just left to tune it in.

If anyone has any questions pm me I can try to help if needed.

When I tested for roll-off with my first amp I couldn't find any. The JL one doesn't demonstrate any either.

If anyone doesn’t want to spend the $600 or whatever it is, the 10TW3 in the JL enclosure fits perfect.

Is the group buy happening again? It looks like I missed round one and two. If there are is a third I’d be interested.

I bought the ********* box with an 8" Kicker Solo Baric L7...
Wish I would have held out payed a little more and picked this up instead.
The Kicker Solo Baric sounds good but the JL box just looks so much cleaner :)
I hate how you have to remove the plastic panel on the back of the seat and the plastic storage box with the ********* box.
I know that with the seat up you can't see it but people interested in your stereo always ask to see your set up after they hear it.
It looks cheap and kinda crappy once you lower the seat down and reveal the box.

Well damn this thread was silent and I pulled the trigger on Best Buy kicker amp and hideaway but I may cancel if this third round comes to life.

Well SWPRO shared the JL Audio contact so I’ll reach out and see if I can start a third round. I’ll post once I get a response with the details.
