GROUPBUY: 3rd Gen JL Audio Stealthbox

Guys, I ordered mine at my local shop and they called JL Audio and got them to give me the same price. So, this maybe a good route. Also ordered me two amps from Sound Digital. One for the Sub and one for my new Alpine speakers.

 

Without spending my afternoon scrolling and reading... lol....
This box still allows for full functionality of the seat? Not like the tacotune boxes?
Any clue on the price tag?
I think I could be down too.....

 

its made to fit in the bin, does not mess w/ the seat function at all. you don't have to remove the bins or any of the plastic to make this box work.

I can't speak to what kinda discount there might be. its gunna depend on them negotiation skills if this goes through.

Still working with them. So I guess JL is a little upset, only 13 of the 20 people followed through on this groupbuy, they won’t start another groupbuy until this one is finished. I asked if myself and 6 others could hop on this and haven’t got an answer yet. I am going to call again tomorrow.

What was the reason for change in the design of 2nd gen vs 3rd gen tacoma? I am very interested in the set up but would like to utilize the storage space behind the driver side. I prefer to mount the amp on the box as it is on the gen 2.
Does the 2nd gen box fit in the 3rd gen tacoma? And if so, can the hooks be utilized for car seat?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you still happy with the XD700/5? It pushes the sub enough? I am trying to decide between that amp and the hd900/5. Almost double the price, but pushes 100w to front and rear doors and 500 to sub. I have run new wire to doors directly. Trying to decide between 300 and 500 watts to give this sub. JL is telling me the HD900 is too much and the XD700 is a good match, but have seen some people happier giving it 500. Not sure what to do there.

 

Interested if it would work in a second gen.

 

I ran a single hd900/5 in my prior taco with the 2nd gen stealthbox and focal components in the doors. I was happy with the highs but the amp had to be at it's lowest gain to properly run the sub. The jl sub is only rated at 200w to 400w continuous power and easily distorts when pushed past 400w.

 

Okay, that confirms it for me. XD700 it is.
