Definitely isn't my leg in the photo. I can't say too much about it as there are many privacy laws surrounding medical treatment. There were a lot of poor decisions involved in this particular scenario is about all I can say.

Oh yeah. I was already on them. Doc wanted me to send him pics, that was one. He signed over a script and I was on the antibiotics. It's already clearing up. I get to follow up with him next week plus first set of CT scans for my cancer monitoring.

HIPAA - its how you spell B!7©# in the medical field, Its so bad that I can barely say that my wife is a Patient care technician (she's going for her LPN right now). She can't even tell me what she does all day because it can come back to bite worse than treason.

I work in a hospital and just had my yearly HIPAA refresher/update. I can discuss what I see I can't reveal names or patient details (gender, ethnicity, etc.) Kinda puzzling because they post patient names outside the rooms (unless the patient doesn't want it) Most of the computer screens also are viewable from the hallways. But all rooms are private now, due mostly to HIPAA. And no recording devices!

Mine is a papercut compared to some here!

Last year had my middle and ring finger crushed by the hopper off of a meat grinder. 3 stitches later. The middle finger took most the damage, if it weren't for my ring finger, it would have amputated the tip of the middle finger. It was numb for about 6 months but now have 95% of the feeling back now.

    IMG_8961.jpg

    IMG_8962.jpg

You can see how swollen my finger is, you can where the ring finger took the impact. Luckily I didn't even lose my finger nails, for sure I thought I was going to.

Sorry, trauma is sort of my specialty. I'm not sadistic or anything. Glad people are ok. Just interesting to see other people's work and experiences.

Not entirely gruesome but yesterday I walked into a 25-30 lb lift fixture at work. More precisely....the safety pin that holds 2 latching mechanisms together.
The pin never penetrated my jeans so the actual pressure pushed against my jeans so hard and fast, that the inner layer of my jeans is what actually tore my skin.

Imagine taking a pencil erasure and pushing off the skin of fresh backed chicken right out of the oven.
It's a few layers deep, but no sign of my shin bone so just some antibacterial cream and a bandaid.

    Stubbed my toe today... :pout:

Walking through the garage and kicked the miter saw base that was on my garage floor. Was trying to get around my '66 mustang and left foot tripped, sending the right foot forward looking for stability, right into the base of the miter saw.

Had to rip it the rest of the way off.

I got in a fight with a post pounder at work today and power slammed my head.

4 stitches and 1 1/2 days off is the results.

Hit a tree riding my snowboard in the back country. I was going pretty fast. Nine facial fractures in and around my nose. Shit happens.

Ouch... While skiing in Utah many years ago, I was blindsided by a snowboarder. He hit me so hard that both my skis and boots were broken, but for 9 hours, I was paralyzed from the chest down. He also broke the front of his board right off. When he hit me, he ducked down and took out my legs. It flipped me horizontal and I hit the chairlift upright back first. Dislocated 9 vertebrae.

Made it down the hill before I passed out and ski patrol got to me. The collision of him and me and me with the upright was so loud that the patrol thought someone was shot. Got a ride down the mountain in an ambulance. I remember them poking around my legs and not feeling anything. Scary as hell. I had a crazy Chinese doctor that massaged all the disks and vertebrae back into place. Then I got about two hours on "the rack" (like the medeavile torture device) while being pumped full of morphine and anti inflammatory meds. Swelling around my spine went away, clots were dissolved, and I could walk again.
