I'm not so thrilled to be able to contribute to this thread but here it is. This is the effect of wiping out onto a slab of granite along the trail after catching my wheel in a rut on a high speed down hill. Lets just say 18 stitches later I learned the importance of wearing knee/shin guards when mountain biking in areas with tons of granite.
Looks minor in comparison to some of this crap but I'm fine with that lol

Probably the least enjoyable part of my day as long as you don't count the shots to numb it all up at the ER lol

Don't have the pre-stitches photo anymore, but my coworker decided to shred two of his fingers on a ratchet strap. He was trying to get a bead on a tire. He had a portable air tank to get the bead in one hand, and tried to flick the ratchet strap off with the other before the tire filled. Well it filled and put too much pressure on the strap. When he flicked it, the buckle in the strap flew into the hand and his fingers got stuck in the gears. The gears essentially ate his 2 fingers. 11 stitches on each finger and 4 months later and he still has problems bending them

I don't have any pictures, but my coworker chopped his thumb off when a strap came off the load. The dr sewed it back on, but it won't be of much use. The scars are gnarly. One is from his hand halfway up his arm.

A buddy of mine at work was using a 3" hole saw on a drill press and the hole saw bound up in the material and dragged it toward the bit. His hand moved along with the material and it chopped his thumb clear off. They couldn't save his thumb. A year later, he had a surgery where they took his big toe off his left foot and put it on his left hand. His big toe is now his thumb and they were able to connect tendons and stuff like that and he has use of his "thumb toe thing". Crazy!

Cool. If I only had cell phones when I was younger. 100 stitch cut on my knee when I fell onto the bottom track of metal framing. Could put my hand into that wound. Smashed my finger in Kansas City MS on top of a pile driving hammer so bad it popped like a grape, one finger and it made my arm swell up to my elbow. Pipe hit me in the face on a job in DC, had a lump as big as a baseball on my eyebrow, black eye for 2 months, fractured skull.

Wish this thread was around at the time I was working with him! He even took off his shoe and sock and showed me that his big toe was gone. It was the second to last TV show I worked on. He was a set carpenter for the show.

    Bahahahhhaaha!!
