I bought @dirt designs coil bucket hats here on TW and then had Austin at wolf-fab.com bend up the crossbar. He has made a few for other TW members as well. Keeps the coils buckets from leaning in on each other under heavy use.

Right, so now that the truck is mostly sorted I have to recognize the glaring omission in the whole plan. The camper interior. I had cobbled together a rough attempt at a camper interior once before but it was so terrible that even I couldn't take any pride in it and it ended up on the burn pile. With that now a hopefully soon forgotten piece of history I now move on to "camper interior V.2."

With the hopes that I can have the interior completely installed and sorted in time for the Appalachian Toyota Round-Up I'm starting to amass parts to do it right and today I ordered a National Luna portable power pack to house a deep cycle battery. After playing with the AT combo slide I bought for the Land Cruiser I decided to get another one for the Tacoma was well. And of course I have to include the removable windscreen for it as well. I intend to get the Partner Steel JK stove to insert into the slide but I have a line on one second hand for about 30% off so I'm chasing it right now.

I love camping in the Autumn and early Winter months, so to keep Household 6 happy I also ordered a Heatsource HS2000 LPG furnace. I've always avoided liquid fuel heaters/furnaces while camping mostly because I always bring enough bedding to stay warm enough for my personal comfort levels and because they are another item that eats money and has fuel containers that require surrendering a portion of the valuable and limited storage space. Since I'm caving in to some of the luxury items I went ahead and ordered a Thetford port potti too. My plan is to place that in the front of the bed under a lid in the middle section next to the NL power pack.

I'm going back to plotting on the details of the interior layout. Looking forward to providing you with more updates soon.

What does the interior look like now, and do you have any photos from version 1.0?

I have a spare tire and a 20lb powertank strapped in, that's it. I think I have a picture somewhere of the old interior remains and they burnt.

The IBS dual battery kit came with a sweet pair of heavy duty battery terminals that make the factory terminals look pathetic. A quick search on Amazon netted me a second pair and some covers for all four.

Amazing build. One of the few long beds that make me wish I had gone that way.

Thanks, it's really getting close to where I've planned it to be. I think getting a nice interior for the FlipPac will make all the difference.

Do you already have plans for that? I imagine you already saw what DVexile did. Not too elaborate, and I think he's done more than he shows on his build. Hell, come to think of it, I've never seen the inside of a Flippac all set up for camp.

I started making plans for the truck before I even bought it. Embarrassed to say that I don't know @DVexile or what he did but will start looking.

Once I get the interior all sorted I'll share heaps of pictures.

Hooked up a deal and got another National Luna Weekender 52L fridge/freezer for the Tacoma. Still no luck on the second hand Partner Steel JK Stove and can't order a new one right now as they are out of stock.

I bought a pair of the Blue Ridge Overland Gear tool bags after being recommended to me buy @ChandlerDOOM and they are very nice indeed. So nice that one of them has already been confiscated by my wife for use with her 4Runner. When I order it's replacement I will most likely end up grabbing another pair for the Land Cruiser as well as a few of their other items.

Also have a couple of new Scepter - MWC - military water cans coming. I know I can buy them second hand fairly cheap but I have this weird concern with carrying items marked "U.S' GOVERNMENT PROPERTY" so I end up doing a bit more searching than normal.

So for the next couple of weeks I imagine I'll be hitting refresh on package tracking websites allot.

I'd never been to the Overland site before. The stock bins in the DC are such stupid space-wasting pieces of shit, I can't wait to tear them out and do something better back there. I have a smallish 50-pc-ish Craftman set that simply will not fit back there. Pissed my off to no end.

I'll be interested to see what you do with the toolbag. We expect a full benchtop demonstration of how you put it together.

Their other bags offer promise for packing back there in the absence of any OEM bins. I've actually repurposes an older Timbuk 2 bicycle messenger bag for my snatch strap that works in much the way their design does. You can deploy feeding the bag, and then use as a safety deadweight during snatching. I didn't realize how cutting edge I was at the time :homer:

I've updated the second post in the thread to include links to manufacturers or vendors of the components I've used. the list is still growing as quite frankly, I'm old and I forget stuff, and let's face it. One can never really say that a truck is "complete."

IN the past I've relied heavily on Pelican cases with the 1550's being my "go to" case for allot of things. With a family available storage space just disappears and I have to rethink how I store everything. Hoping that soft bags will free up some more space for my wife and sons necessities.

The only thing I wish was different about their tool bags is the interior color. I would like if when opened up and laid out the interior was a signal color such as florescent green, pink, or orange. Would make it much easier in low light to lay hands on fasteners and the like when you use the high lipped sides to serve as a tray to keep them from getting lost.
