I see the value in it. I just want to see how they pull off the federalizations on a new truck since the 79's are only four or five years old. That engine with an automatic transmission and a crawl box would be the ultimate arrangement.

"We have EPA/DOT approval to retrofit and test the L79 for emissions/safety"

This is what keeps me skeptical. What I read is they have the approval to import and start their testing. This isn't a time to mess around with diesel testing through the EPA after VWs recall. Why promote yourself as the only company to import one but need 75k to buy two for official testing...

I'll wait until it gets approved first

This is confusing to be certain. EPA tests are expensive and DOT safety tests are destructive to the point that the test subject will effectively be totaled and have no value other than the exchange for the test results. I'll keep watching to see if more of their plans are brought to light before I commit but like I said, I've wanted one of these since before Toyota actually committed to building them.

This looks pretty neat. I would like to add those storage compartments to my Tacoma bed sides. :D

I used to have an old Ford F100 that had some bedside tool boxes when I was a kid in Texas. Used to keep wire and fence repair tools in it. Would be slick to have something similar on the Tacoma.

Did a 10,000 mile five tire rotation today and the tiny little shimmy that I had is gone.

    IMG_3143.jpg 249A56F4-DBF1-41B6-AAAC-20222484911C.jpg

Noticed that I need to get in there and clean up some rust spots too. While I was at it I started to measure out how much storage I actually have on the trailer and it turns out that I have more than I thought. Afraid to tell my wife because she might want to put more of her stuff in it.

The drawer with the handle is huge and as deep as the black shelf. And this is just the passenger side.

Finally got sick of rusty LPG tanks and getting ripped off at the trade in places so I bought a pair of Ragasco Viking fiberglass cylinders. Their claims of a very lightweight cylinder didn't completely sink in until I finally put hands on them. Wow. Now I need to sort out a locking solution for them in the bottle holders of the trailer.

Doesn't look like they offer their low coolant alarm anymore. Not on their website.

You are correct. Using the Redarc site search feature I can still find reference to them but the page links are dead. Too bad as they are really inexpensive protection.

How much we talking for these?

And I assume you can get them filled at any Propane place pretty easily?

This would be great for trips instead of the big tank I have.

The best price I found was from vikingcylinders.com. They sell the 22lb cylinders for $125 with 12.5 years of service life left that bales down to about ten bucks a year which for us, is worth it. They offer different sizes with smaller options that are less expensive.

The RV place down the road from me quoted $20 to fill the tank and acid that they will inspect and recertify it when required.
