    Ha, same here.

    Like it is pretty pointless.

Starting to put some canopy ideas together. I know that I want to fit some of my camping gear as well as provisions for spares and recovery gear. Just about settled on some options but still sorting out others. Any suggestions?

Thinking of ways to accommodate a large aluminum HF jack under the tray already. “Thinking” about moving my dual battery arrangement elsewhere and fitting a strong compressor as well already but want that all on the truck. A third battery is definitely in mind for the canopy.

I love my AT combo slide with fridge and stove and while it’s heavy I’d really like to put it on a drop mechanism. May have to sell it and take a different direction.

Lights will be duplicate of the lights inside the kitchen box on the camper trailer. Will mount them under the canopy gullwings to make a great area/work light.

some of the most/best creative ideas I have seen for carrying a floor jack onboard full time has been on desert pre runner style trucks
try a few google image searches maybe you see something you like
would be nice if our trucks came with access cubbies on the rear fenders, a good amount of room in there between fender and bed liner

Agreed, some innovative people in that world. Luckily for me my bed will be removed and replaced with a tray. Scouring “ute tray canopy” results on google image search.

Thinking something along these lines for my spares. Now have two so might as well make space for both of them. Only difference other than the width to accommodate 35's is that I'd want to possibly add a ratchet strap to the works to help me get it closed if it's difficult due to my disability.

I might even be able to get a jerry can or two in the middle which brings even more weight from behind the bar axle to the center.

I found out about this company from buying my Kimberley Kamper. Kimberley offers the Almac folding boat trailer as an accessory for those of us with the boat loader on the trailer. Since I won't always have the camper with me I wanted to sort out a boat loader for the canopy and I think the Almac loader will be perfect.

I couldn't wait @ETXTacoma so I ordered my boat already, should be here when we get back from Arkansas.

Very nice! That is how I want mine setup as well so that I can remove the canopy yet still have the spare on the truck plus fuel.

All good on the boat, I had actually forgotten about it until you just said something...

I’d still like details and price on them, just not in as big a hurry. Saving for an outboard motor now.

I can get you the details on them.

Hardest part would be getting them to you somehow from where they are located.

Back at the shop to drop the Tacoma back off and then head back home. Had a kick ass time and really dug the atmosphere. I’m going to hold off on flying until I get my kidney to respect the transplant teams request of “no dangerous activities,” but I will start the ground school training in the spring so I can start getting my head in the game.

Camped in the FlipPac last night which in retrospect will probably be the last time I ever camp in it as I am going to list it for sale this year as my wife and I both agree that with the trailer, we just don’t need it anymore. I’m still getting my tray/canopy wishlist ready for @ChandlerDOOM but I feel that it will suit my needs as well as adding the ability to simply drop the canopy and use the flatbed when I need it.

I put it on in the dark and it was on upside down and I was freezing so I left it. I always point the FlipPac into the wind and that helps stop the fluttering and keeps it in place. When on correctly I have battens that I fit into the window covers to keep ventilation flowing and prevent water from getting to the main tent body.

Any idea what your trailer weighs fully loaded? How's the Taco handle the weight? Bog down much on sustained uphills?

I need to slip onto a local scale soon to find out as I know it’s working. Did allot of traveling in Missouri two weekends ago and with the trailer on and it did allot better than expected. The All-Pro Expo leafs definitely make a difference and with the bumper and trailer go flat. Local friend has suggested we break a spare factory leaf pack down and add its overload to the Expos and I think he’s right and will try it soon.
