It's official, the LandCruiser is for sale. Drove it for a bit today and while I still love it, I want a troopy more so it has to go much to my wife dismay as I think she loved it more than I did despite her initial complaints.

    Update:

Nothing has changed on the truck other that a new Fluid Film coat. Still seriously thinking about selling it but that will wait until the LandCruiser and an antique tractor are gone. I’d sell the FlipPac now but everyone keeps lowballing me with prices they saw for ancient models with zero options. Doesn’t cost anything to feed it so not really worried at the moment.

Progress will be at a halt for awhile regrettably due to health issues. Dialysis is continuing to do damage to my heart while I wait for a kidney donor. Starting to feel exhausted on a constant basis. Add that to a guy with wanderlust who is tethered to a dialysis machine three times a week and you end up with a very miserable individual.

So with that said, here is my plea.

I need a kidney. Without one my condition will continue along this downward spiral. My doctors haven’t stamped me with an expiration date yet but when I ask if I’d be around to see my son graduate high school, “probably not” is the answer I get in return.

If you know anyone who is interested in being tested - at my expense - to see if they qualify as a possible donor candidate please message me for details as there are more than one option.

Here is a link to my transplant teams website.

Thank you to anyone who even considers this. A transplant will give me my life back and help ensure my son still has a father.

EDIT: Here is the transplant teams phone number. 314-362-5365

From what I understand I can live with only one. It's weird my wife is an organ doner on her drivers license, I'm not and never have been. We've had the discussions about the why.
I'm all for paying it forward. You seem like a really cool person and I would like to help if I can. So...is the start blood type, before shit gets serious? PM me and lets go from there, seriously.

Whoa! For some reason I either missed the reply notification or its not working correctly. I've said it before and I still feel the same way, anyone that is even willing to consider being a donor amazes and humbles me.

It can go by blood type for direct donor to recipient but there is another program that speeds the process up called "Paired Donor Kidney Exchange" which means that even if the donor didn't have the same blood type as me, we would be paired and then they would search for another pair that an exchange could happen with so that everyone goes into surgery at the same time and everyone comes out a winner.

You should post up what blood type you have just so people know

I’m O+ but with the paired donor exchange program it’s not an imperative that we have a match.

With the current low temperatures I'm experiencing frozen windshield fluid sprayers on the hood. WITh that, I was thinking of retrofitting a salvage fluid heater from an old Cadillac and started to do some research and found that the manufacturer of those heaters is a third party and they still make them and sell them retail.

AlphaTherm is the brand name and they make a D.I.Y. unit for non GM vehicles that I want to order but When I read consumer reviews online it's either love or hate, nothing in between. Have any of you used one and can you offer some feedback? I've tried heated wiper blades before but the results weren't great when it was really cold and the elements would burn out quicker than expected.

Hey, saw your selling the flip-pac... thats gotta be tough, seems like you put some serious thought and love into the buildout.

If you don't mind, could you let me know where you ordered the windoors with sliders and how much they ran you, or were they added by Martin / Mario?

Yeah, we’ve been back and forth about it for quite awhile now. It’s an awesome upgrade and a game changer, but now that we have the trailer we just don’t really use it anymore. Once I sell it I’ll go with what I wanted all along and just grab a swag for solo camping.

Martyn at AT added them to the FlipPac as an upgrade for me. I imagine that they could still source them but I’d try local first.

By local you mean having a topper place order them? Thought about that but from what I saw online just a plain windoor even runs in the ~400$ range I figure the slider would probably add another 50-100$ but its pretty necessary for the pups.

Local cap store to you might be able to help. The sliders are awesome for venting for dogs.

Was there a reason you swapped your cb antenna from passenger side to driver?

I’m about to reinstall my CB and going back to a firestik+Relentless mount.

Was playing with different cable lengths when I had it up front. Now it’s on the passenger side of the rear bumper. I’ll end up with a different antenna on the relentless mounts.

Getting more stuff moved to the new house and don't have a dedicated office space in the actual house yet, so I decided to take the small iMac off the workshop desk - along with about a hundred pounds of other junk - and setup my regular desktop. Not bothering with too much tidying of cables for now as I may end up with it somewhere in the house.
