Guess tacos cant do everything

    Pulling isn't exactly the Tacoma's strong suit... They are just too light. Whenever I go rescue people in snow I have to rely on momentum to get the out (ie getting a running start and jerking them). Very rarely can I straight pull somebody. I usually just start spinning even locked front and rear and I am damn heavy for a Tacoma.

    And they are right about the strap. Those hooks like to bend open and slip off whatever they are hooked to. A shackle will typically bend your frame or break your strap before it becomes a projectile.

    Too easy for the strap/chain to slip off the tow ball.

    If you don't have a D-ring shackle, it would be safer to loop the strap through the hitch pin instead, but you need to be pulling straight ahead to avoid the receiver tube cutting into the strap:

    Would someone care to post a picture of those "shackles" ?
    I am familiar with the double looped strap. They're expensive.

    x2. That's a tow hook, meant for a different purpose alltogether. Recovery straps or "snatch straps" don't have hooks and have great elasticity.
