Ok so i finally got my truck back today from the dealer, just a little history behind it.

I bought it on febuary 25 of 2015, all looked well when i went to look at it, i was familiar with the frame rust issues before i checked it out, in fact i have an inside guy who has worked in parts at the dealer for some time who gave me some history on the vehicle when i provided him with the VIN, one crucial piece was the fact that the frame inspection was done in July 2009, it passed and was "rustproofed" with the dealer coating which extended the warranty on the frame for 15 years from the in service date, for me was may 2002.

So i purchased the truck on the wednesday, and brought it into the shop on the followinfg Saturday to give it a good going over when i found this

So i sweated it out over the weekend and with the info i already had i figured i would be covered for the frame under warrany

I brought it to the dealer on the following monday showed them what i found(remember i just bought this truck 5 days prior) the next day(which im told is pretty quick) i got a call and they told me that it qualified for a frame replacement under warranty!

For me this was like christmas in March!

    So......

7 weeks later all the parts were rounded up and the process began, it took them another 3 weeks to get it all together but ive got it back now

The tech was nice enough to take some pics, and i took some of my own on a visit to the dealer when they wanted me to switch out my loaner so here they are

Hind sight, but I wonder if they would have done a lift for you if you had provided the parts...

naturally every dealer may have their own views on mods but it is my understanding that anything required to be removed and reinstalled during the frame swap is no extra charge for them to reinstall any parts you prefer to be installed in place of oem.

I believe you have to waive any issues of ride quality and such as far as their work since you selected the parts.

do you know if the frame was completely separated like that on its own or was it still barely hanging on and pulling the rear axle "helped it" to completely separate on that one side?

Yeah it was split while I was driving it, the ass end would jump around a lot changing lanes over uneven pavement or cornering, the leaf spring was holding it together
