    PROBLEM RESOLVED.

    So I checked the brake switch with my voltmeter and it's fine. I replaced the overhead brake light and everything worked. I replaced the bulbs with LEDs. These bulbs are polarity based.

    Tip... place the red dot on the sylvania 168 bulb towards the sky for the correct orientation.
