Just got a new 2012 Tacoma Prerunner SR5 DC.

When I bought my Tacoma, I knew I was going to want to upgrade a few things so I didnt drop the $400 on OEM running boards or $600 on alloy wheels. I also thought $300 for rubber mats was ridiculous.

Right now Im interested in getting a decent quality nerf bar and a durable set of mats for the inside. I also want begin to look at options for upgrading my wheels. Id like to go black step bar and black wheels.

For the running bars is Aries a decent brand? Sub $200 for black matte and bolt on seems very reasonable. Anything in the sub $200 range that are a better value?

As for the mats Ive been cruising around this site and looked at what most people recommend. WeatherTech seems to be popular. Will the mats made for the 2011 fit the 2012? Are there better options in that price range ($100) for a front/back set?
    http://www.weathertech.com/toyota/2011/tacoma/floor-mats-all-weather/

Are there any resources on this website that are a good starting point in trying to decide what direction I should go for aftermarket rims/tires?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The mats are more of a pressing concern right now. I have 2 raggy old rubber mats I pulled out of my old car.

Mats for the 11 won't fit the 12 as toyota repositioned the retention clips. You can remove those to make them fit, but I'm just waiting on weathertech to update the design to fit 2012 models.

I have been in the process of upgrading my mats as well. Finding good quality 2012 mats for me has been a pain. I emailed weather tech a couple of days ago and they said there 2012 mats wont be available for another 10 weeks. Another older thread said that they wouldn't be available for ten weeks, so it appears ten weeks is a moving target for them.

So...I decided to get some Husky's instead. After several emails and constant internet searching I finally found someone who carried the 2012's, or so I thought. What I recieved was a universal front Husky mat and not one customized for 2012. It didn't have the correct holes (or any holes) to secure the mat. I emailed Husky and they said that they did indeed have mats available for the 2012 and that this particular supplier should carry them. So my next project is to call the retailer and see if there was a mix up or if I actually got the product they intended to send me.

Check Ebay for brand new OEM Tacoma floor mats. I found a complete set of black OEM 2012 all weather mats for $85 with shipping! My local Toyota dealership quoted me around $300 a complete set.

I got them in the mail the other day and they are genuine and fit perfectly!

The clips do shit all for weathertechs anyways. They are molded in so well it is more for show and liability limiting.

A set of weathertechs is about 100x better than an all-weather mat anyways, clips or no.

I agree with Anethema. The holes in the weathertech mats for the hooks are nothing but that...holes that allow nasties to pass through your liners to the precious carpet below.

I have a set of custom fit mats made by Lloyd mats for sale. They are not as "liner-like" as weathertech, but they fit really nice and catch debris and h20. They are also half the price. I have both front and passenger and rear row (which is one solid runner). They have not been used.

I've got a set of all weather mats that came with my truck(2012). I want to swap them out for a set of black carpet factory mats. Anyone want to trade?
