    Howdy, everyone!
Doing my first spark plug change right now.
All coils & plugs looking good, and also dry, until I got to the last one - driver side front...
Exterior & interior of coil had a good amount of oil.
    Plug was pretty much smothered.
    Truck has always run smooth.
Snugged up valve cover bolts near this spark plug well (they were surprisingly easy to move...).
My question is, should I stick a rag down in the well to clean up some of the oil?
Any other suggestions would be helpful, as well.

sounds like a valve cover leak. I always leave and engine cleaner than I found it. I wipe up the excess oil for sure.

All in all, that was a pretty simple job.
Guess I’ll have to monitor that leak.
Too bad it’s the one most difficult to access (go figure...).

    Thanks for the reply, @jbaker1976.

hopefully it was just a loose valve cover

if you meant the spark plug 'well' was full, you are going to have to change the VC gaskets and plug grommets.

Don't feel bad. Lots of motorcycles needed it every 10K miles and were certainly no easier.

Spark plug “well” is what I meant!
(was flustered and frustrated at the time)
    Wasn’t full.
(nothing leaking onto the exterior of the valve cover)
Hoping that snugging up of the valve cover will help for the short term!

Yup. Word of advice, do it soon before you start fouling plugs. I once drove my wife’s old car to the parts store on 2 cylinders because I ignored it for too long and just kept swapping plugs.
