its a shame the death penalty rarely actually results in death.

Sucks that he will probably get the death penalty and sit on death row for God knows how long.

Death is to good for this POS. Especially since it has to be done humanly. I hope he's put in general population so he can have the shit beat out of him a few times before his dies.

Most victims families do not seek vengeance. The recent Charleston shooting as example.

Not a society I would want to live in.

Taking a life in an act of defense...I support. Sometimes necessary force is necessary. Vengeance, I won't seek.

Maybe its just how I grew up that has made me think the way I think, but he deserves to die either way. Its not fair that my father is too scared to go to the movies, even being a cop and prior FBI himself, without carrying a weapon on him.

I hope he finds redemption in prison and society at large forgets about him.

I think its fantastic that people open carry, but..., on the other hand, some places its just not appropriate to do. There have been multiple incidents with open carry, like the one here in Vegas a couple years back. Guys at Costco (which now has a no open carry policy unless police or other government agency) hes open carrying around the store. Some mom, who was very scared being she with her kids and "alone" calls cops and says guy has a gun at Costco, ie she told operator he has a gun, not that he is OPEN CARRYING. LVMPD arrives. As they approach (they meaning 10+ officers because this lady miss worded her statement to the op) they spot the suspect, but do not see a gun. As he turns around, the officer closes asks if he has a weapon. That is when he starts to reach down and pull up his shirt. As he does, the officer miss interprets his actions and the officer reaches for his weapon. As the first officer fires, the other officers around all follow suit, shooting him multiple times. All he was doing was reaching to pull up his shirt to show the officer he was carrying and this is were it ended up, him with multiples chest and head wounds. All because he was open carrying in the wrong atmosphere.
