Nice. I love me guitars. My personal ones are Epiphone Black Beauty and a Schecter Solo 6.

I have a cheap Line 6 amp with some pretty cool presets. I spend most of my time practicing on that but I also have an old Marshal Halfstack that my grandpa gave me for my birthday.

My grandpa loves music too and has about 15 awesome guitars along with a small drum set and a keyboard, and I can't forget the tons of pedals he has. We are moving his music room from upstairs to downstairs but I'll be sure to post pics when we're all done.

I've been listening to this kid for about a month now playing drums up the street from me while I try and sleep during the day.
At first, it was very annoying. Its like probably 300 yrds and its barely audible but I can hear it enough to break my sleep pattern.
At first (3-4 months ago) I was like wtf!! what is this shit newb crap. Now the kid sounds like fckng neal peart and is making me want to start jamming and go ask him if he wants to play
I dont hear anything else except for the drums. He's wicked good.

I have two epiphones. My electric is a les Paul custom With Seymour Duncan '59 and screamin' demon pickups I use with a Marshall mini stack, the other is the hummingbird acoustic. Both in sunburst. Been playing for several years, self taught, so I don't know a whole lot about scales and things but pick it up fairly easily.

Hey man, practice practice practice right?

I am sort of pissed. This is the first time I have restrung a guitar and I bought two brand new packs of strings and broke the strings both times. 5 strings are tuned and perfect minus low E now, which is broke and then I discovered today my amp is junk. I tried to fix it. No cigar. They designed to be irreparable. Ugh. There is always tomorrow to fix it all. Guitar Center here I come. Again.

Very nice. I likey what I see!

I finally picked up my amp and managed to get the guitar all restrung proper and tuned correctly. I managed to pick up some gold plated covers for the V7/ V8 pickups I replaced with a Dimarzio CrunchLab/ Liquifire Bridge/ Neck combo. Much better now. Dark gray and gold. Simple, yet classy aesthetics. I want to practice in style.

Here she is. All finished, polished up and really to shine. I finally got all the parts I needed to complete the project today and am really proud of it as it currently sits. :)

Time to practice, play, and shred.

I also picked up a Morpheus Capo pedal while I was at it for $60 so I could dynamically change the tuning on the fly while playing. Here is the current setup. Nothing special, but definitely great for sessions. Probably nothing close to record worthy, however.

    Local ad:
Sick axe. Rare, one of a kind Pre-Trump regime model. Missing one string. No case or gig bag. Push/pull tone pot activates internal speaker and plays Carlos Santana featuring Rob Thomas "Smooth" MP3. Ten boutique aftermarket Kent Armstrong pickups installed by PRO guitar tech. Custom 17-way toggle switch. All quarter-split pickups with in phase, out of phase, or stcked "Afterburner" options. Locking nut but I lost the keys. Converted to custom hardtail with a piece of rebar plated in nickel. Features built-in Pizzeria Combos, Axe body spray and Mtn. Dew (duh) dispensers in lower horn. Sounds awesome. It's like the Brown Sound x10^6, only better. This axe is EXTREMELY okay at all genres. Except it wasn't working with my Spliff-core duo, so I need to sell it.

*UPDATE*: Willing to trade for an Electro-Harmonix Celesta effects pedal, Wah-verb combo effect or Flangelay/Delange combo effect pedal.

**UPDATE**: Would also accept a 10lb flame orange bowling ball signed by the cast of Fuller House

I'd jump on that QUICK if I were still playing out. I got to a point where I had more guitars than talent, then I went back to school and had kids. I license music for film and ads from time to time, but nowhere near the $ I made during my gear collecting days. I'm trying to downsize these days.

G string fret buzz- hypothesis and easy fix:

I've had my Martin for about 14 years now:
    martin.jpg

The setup was fine and it played great for about the first 12 years or so; then it developed a fret buzz on the G string only.
Feeler gauges under the string confirmed that my G string was lower and observation of the nut groove appeared to be deeper: the nut is Corian.
A Google search shows this situation occurs a lot and many appropriate fixes are given.

My hypothesis is that a round wound string acts like a saw (albeit with blunt teeth); and this combined with the G string being the thinnest would cause differential wear on the nut.
    string_construction.jpg

Others have postulated as such, but most threads I could find dealt with electric guitars (with metal nuts):
    https://www.talkbass.com/threads/are-flatwounds-really-that-much-easier-on-the-frets.693703/
    https://www.quora.com/What-are-some...-roundwounds-for-electric-jazz-or-rock-guitar

One easy fix I've used is super glue- fill up the nut slot with super glue, let it dry for a good while, then refile the groove with a nut file to proper depth; a lot easier than cutting a whole new nut for just one bad groove. Seems to be holding up well so far, but it might wear down faster than a new nut. I also can't detect any diminution of sound quality from the G string; although admittedly my hearing is not as acute as others.

I'm curious if any others have experienced differential nut groove wear, especially only the G string groove; changed over to flat wound strings; and concomitant theories.

Edit, found this, super glue plus baking soda:
