Holy shit dude. I was just kidding about getting together and jamming..

jk/jk!! glad you got your audacity working. The quality doesnt sound that bad. I told you I use it as a mixdown from my 8 track digi and I thought it sounded pretty clean but I am getting a total digi signal.

It's simple things like what you just figured out to keep you OUT of the rut and kep you playing. I get so bored sometimes cause I just sit here, maybe turn the radio on. Maybe open up guitar pro or something. But even when I find the simplest thing like using gorilla snot on a pick o waxing the fretboard. Or even a new way to record looping stereo to bus, I'm like "WHOA"!! and I play for like 3 days strait. Then i'm bored again. lol.

i know what you mean man. sometimes i'll pick up my guitar and play the same ole boring stuff that ive known for years and get tired of it and put it down, and other times when im hooked on learning a new song i'll be sitting in class just waiting to get back to my house and work on it. . . that was probably the best "original" piece ive got saved on my computer so thats what i uploaded first. . . it got repetitive and boring at the end but like i said, im pretty proud of it. ive been looking on ebay at "blue snowball usb mics" to get hopefully soon. they have great reviews and hopefully will help the quality for when i want to put together entire songs with vocals and a few more instruments. . . .if i get the time i'll post up some more riffs so when i post the link you/yall can download it to your computers and we can each take a stab at it and vice versa. i think that would be a lot of fun.

on that piece i posted i was thinking on cutting out the end where i went vocal solo on it but i said screw it and left it as is haha.

I have a piece similiar to that. Kinda repetetive and boring. Lotsa missed notes. But the recording and production of the entire thing sounded pretty good. I'll try and post it. Its with distortion and lead, very amatuerist but I like it nonetheless.
You should keep posting stuff up like that. As far as "the mix" it sounded pretty good to me.

Hey guys, Ive posted here before on one of the first pages. I see you guys are posting great stuff. I thought Id post some of my stuff. Sorry for the quality. Its all we have at the moment but will be hitting the studio soon. Let me know what you guys think, and be honest, if we sound like horse shit tell me. I greatly appreciate honest opinions and constructive criticism. My bands name is Neptunes Explode, and we're a Indie/post rock inspired instrumental band.

    Thanks!
Seasons of Wither is played on a Schecter Tempest Custom, and As Tears Go By is played on an Ovation acoustic.

I taught myself using Metal Method DVDs...they are old school but are loaded with very good content. A lot better than the guitar lessons I tried to take lol

Yeah, I recently bought a fairly inexpensive camcorder, a Sony DCR-SX65, to do these videos. Nothing fancy, but it works good enough for the purpose.

this isnt an impressive display of guitar ability, mainly me just singing a pretty song

but this has always been one of my favorite Townes Van Zandt songs. recorded it this morning out of boredom.
