I wouldn't depend on these "vaults" to truly keep anything safe if items are left for any period of time. Give a thief some time and they'll defeat any of the "vaults" out there. Short-term safe storage, sure, but not more than that.

It is a lid with a metal frame under. Could I get into it with a screw driver? Perhaps but it would take good size one. Very good fit and am happy with it.

I too read where install was confusing. It was not difficult to install.

I chose the Lockerdown because it didn’t have a gap to try to pry in.

Just bought the Locker Down console vault for my 2015 Tacoma. Looks like a great product, hopefully it is! Thanks for the recommendation.

    Caution!

Lock'er Down has had my $$$ for 10 weeks now, no product. I did get several email prompts to rate my experience, but was skeptical of the quality and source of the email.

The 'manager' who took my call 6 weeks ago claimed a laser cutter had been replaced and they would now be catching up on orders.

Phones are now going straight to hold music, website seems to be not functioning properly.

It took Visa less than 24 hours to reimburse my card, I wonder if that says something to their awareness of a problem at Locker Down.

Sorry for the bad news, I was looking forward to having this overpriced product ready to install.

    I have mods
I went with the Hooke Road console vault in my X-Runner - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087CVBNF7

Not the best but it works for now and is better than nothing. The fabric is the OEM stuff that is in the console. I just cut it up (poorly) to cover the lid.

    I run a Console Vault in my 03 4runner.

I have the Tuffy 314-01 in mine. It's the lid and frame style console door to retain interior volume, made well, and runs about $200. Deciding factors for me were prior positive experience with Tuffy products in my Jeeps and a higher quality (more difficult to pick/defeat than I've seen on other stuff) lock body. Only thing I'd change is maybe removing the strut/slider, as it can sometimes hit things and make closing the lid an annoyance if you cram a lot of stuff in there.

I think it's secure. Now, I park in a home garage and don't venture to the sketchy parts of Portland. I don't leave the contents of the safe in the safe if I think the truck is in a bad area. With time, I could break into any safes listed in this thread. I think if someone wanted to get into the Hooke, they console would be destroyed. Hope this helps.

I have a cheapshit Hooke road safe that works.

problem is it’s got gaps inside for things to fall through, no floor
And too tiny to fit anything

hopefully others are not like that
