I bet a couple of hard tugs and that can will start to peel back and the hinges or whatever is holding those lock cusps will sheer. Really no different that the boxes with the cable.

That being said they aren’t meant to be used for permanently storing firearms in. Just while you’re in a place that you can’t legally carry. Most thieves probably wouldn’t have the time or more than they are willing to try and get to during a quick smash and grab. The key for those storage devices is kinda out of sight out of mind.

All it takes is a big screwdriver or tin snips.

    That's the basic tweaker's toolkit.

For those with the Lockerdown in a third gen, any chance of getting a full sized M&P 9mm with a TLR-3 in there at some diagonal angle?

Just wondering if my bear medicine would fit (the above with 147grn +P hard cast bullets). I also carry bear spray, but when you sleep on top of your camp kitchen, bear spray might not be enough. I can't see buying of of these if the full size can't be wedged in there.

I get this Glock 17 with rmr, thread barrel, and tlr-1 to fit. But I have to take the extended mag out.
I have a 2019 AT double cab with the locker down installed. I had a locker down in my 2013 Tacoma as well

I got a reply from Lockerdown. They sent me these pics of a Sig P226 with a threaded barrel (9"x6") in the box:
    20180123_101209.jpg 20180123_101228.jpg

So, obviously it doesn't dfit standing upright, but it does fit. Probably best to come up with a way of padding it in there like that, but it would work.

I run a keltec RDB-S with about 6 30RD mags in the rear under the seat. 26 inches long total and a 17 inch barrel make it super compact for a 5.56. Up front in the center console is a Springfield hellcat 9mm as it's small enough to allow me to actually still use my separators and still fits with enough room to grab out in a hurry. If I'm feeling like an over compensating asshole I will toss my FN 509 tactical in there just to show off. But it's kinda too big to fit in the center console.

With all do respect, I don't understand the locker concept. It's in my pocket at all times unless I'm driving in the city (Philly). Then it sits in the double cup holder... ready for the unthinkable.

It's not mine, just saw the picture. Would be great if you're chasing down deer while hunting from your truck (totally legal in most states).

Only on my friends ranch in TX. Just shoot the sheep (not the rams) from the truck. They’re overpopulated when there’s no natural predators.

Post Office and National Park Visitor's Centers. You can't legally carry into a Post Office, also you can carry in the National Forests and National Parks in my state, and you can possess in your vehicle in the parking lots, but you can't carry when entering the visitor's centers. Since I like their flush toilets and maps, I need a secure place to store my four and two legged bear medicine in cases like that. Some parks are set up where you have to park and ride. In those cases, you don't have much option but to leave it in the car for the day. Also, wildlife isn't really a concern in those areas as they are about as wild as any place with bus stops and walking trails for old folks. That is really it. My state is permissive in all the really high risk areas such as cities, schools, stores, movie theaters, day care centers, and all but two churches. (The no firearms signs in my state are a request, not a legally binding directive except if it is a church or a private residence, and only two churches in the state have issued no carry notices.)
