I have owned this gun for about a year and I just it sold to buy my other 2 Smith and Wesson handguns. I never had a problem with it, ever. It always fired for me, fed right, never had any issues. Kept it clean and nice and never shot in the rain. The day after I sell it to the guy (in the Coast Guard) he calls me and tells me 10 out of 15 rounds jammed during his range time with the box of .40 ammo that I threw in with the sale. I told him to bring it to me at work so I could check it out in the armory here. I cleaned it, loaded the mags with dummy rounds, racked it over and over again with no issues. I told hime get some more ammo, go to the range and shoot it, if it doesn't do what he wants, I'll buy it back.

First off, does anyone have this gun and have you had this issue with it?

Second, what things could be wrong here? I'm thinking limp wristing, zero knowledge of guns, etc.

    What do you guys think?

Have you been using that same ammo for a long time without issues?

Who knows. Maybe the guy just decided he didn't like your gun after all and is just making up excuses now.

I tried a lot of different ammo including this brand (Federal) and I have shot cheap ammo, expensive ammo, FMJ, JHP, etc thru it..no issues.

Does that model have any known limp wrist problems? Maybe its the shooter and not the gun. A .40 will have some pretty decent recoil for someone that isn't that experienced, specially for a half plastic gun. Is the return spring weak at all?

I think I'd offer to go to the range with him and see if he's up for that. Dont blame him directly (either before or after your certain), as that will just put him on the defensive. I'm willing to bet he's just doing something stupid. Just be the better person and show him how he's supposed to hold it so it doesn't hit him in the nose.

thats my suggestion...just offer to go to the range with him to see whats going on...let him shoot it a handful of times and then you shoot it

maybe he didnt set the rounds in the mag correctly....some people may seem to have common sense when coming to loading a weapon but you will be surprised that they dont really have a clue. sounds like operator error to me

What's his skill level with handguns...

He might be limp writing it and causing it to not feed correct.
