Gunk Engine Degreaser Foam

Good question: It has to be a COLD engine!!

If you put it on a hot engine, it will dry right away and the foam won't do it's magic.

Napa didn't have any. I will have to look somewhere else. I have been wanting to clean my engine for a while.

 

When you rinsed, did you use regular garden hose or power washer?

 

Did you rinse it on your driveway, did it leave a big mess or stain the concrete?

 

Rinsed with a garden hose onto concrete driveway, then I hosed off the driveway. No residue left behind.

 

Use simple Green full strength and you will get it looking awesome!!

I use Simple Green or Purple Stuff in the fender wheels. Then you can hit it with a little tire foam for detail. I use Gunk and hot soapy water and a brush to clean under the hood.

I dunno about simple green. I cleaned 3 engines with it a couple days ago and it left a lot of grease behind. Had to spray/rinse more than once and it still didn't get it all.I let it sit about 5-10 minutes between rinses.

 

Here is what I have been doing for the better part of 15 years when cleaning the engine bay.....

1. I spray everything down with simple green let sit for about 20 minutes while I clean the wheels and tires.
2. I then come come back with a SUPCO LINT CLEANING BRUSH RCB1 FOR CLEANING OUT REFRIGERATOR COILS to clean the hard to get areas along with a H.B. Smith Tools WDX77 High Pressure Hose wand Nozzle from Amazon.
3. I then blow everything dry with an air hose then spray everything down with Adams in and out spray. then I use Adam's Invisible Undercarriage Spray Dressing to detail the wheel wells and some under carriage areas.

I did use gunk engine cleaner and I found that over time it turned some aluminum a gray color and hoses ended up having a faded white color to them...

Some of the alloys used in the fittings in the engine bay have some make up other than aluminum.
